This model of metal detector has automatic functions and useful pre-set Search Modes that make you a prospecting expert in a matter of moments. We see that as a big plus for someone who is starting out prospecting. The LCD menu can be read easily in any light, day or night. This is due to the backlight provided.
Poor ground can now be worked over because of increased discrimination, for example filtering of iron oxide. Some cheap machines may render false positives when iron is present in the ground.
In fact, the Minelab GPX 4500 features advanced electronics including the new SETA gold nugget hunting technology. No one else comes close.
Timings, Depth and Signal Response:
The latest GPX-4500 introduces two new timings: Enhance, and Sharp. These innovative timings are in addition to the four found on the previous 4500 model. The new ‘Enhance’ timing is a powerful and intelligent feature, similar to the old Sensitive Smooth timing, but Enhance now provides you an improvement in the depth and signal response on small and large gold targets alike. This clearly makes for a better metal detector.
Finally, the new ‘Sharp’ timing can also now be used as an aid to pin-pointing faint signals from gold. There is a marked increase in Audio Gain, or volume. The latest design of the audio amplifier part and the use of the high-quality low noise components work together to ensure that the signal response is more clear and crisp for you, the gold prospector.
